In Gurage zone eight mosques have been torched last week Radio Bilal has reported the horrifying incident.  Sadly it became frequent to see and hear mosques set on fire inside Ethiopia.   The tragic episode took place in an area called moor and aklil the first mosque was burned on 28/November/2010 in kana kebele and next day (19/November/2010) three mosques were also burned to ashes in an area called batana, subsequently four other mosques also set in blaze in similar manner jebaqa debeqi Kebele by chance the two mosques sustain sever structural damage nevertheless past the worst from total annihilation by locals.

This unprovoked attack blamed on a mentally disturbed person which seems far from certainty.   Numerous Muslims rejected the alleged person is indeed insane (this is a common assertion to validate this hideous action of ravagers to exonerate from baring responsibility).   It is beyond believable doubt to assume an insane man carried out such a well engineered felony in a matter of days.  Moreover the mosques were widely scattered to be reached in a short period time unless there were a pre-disposed villainy.

The customary aggravation of Muslims and Muslims institutions became widespread episode in the country unfortunately, for the past few years it accelerates to reaches its climax and testing Muslims serenity.   When the local Imam asked about the person whether he is indeed mentally ill as it was laminated or not he evidently stated that the man who burned down these mosques is actually not only healthy but he is widely respected man in his local among an Orthodox church goers.   Meanwhile other four assailants also apprehended by local police even though Muslims doubt the genuineness of the action taken by the police.  In fact the person who ruined these mosques was previously known to his threat in destroying them.  Actually at the time he was also detained by the police for his remark, nevertheless before long he was released without charges.

So far no report has been released from the Government information desk or from the country’s major media outlets.
